Basil Braveheart, Standing Rock, and Art

The events at Standing Rock call me to remember my experience as a winkte (two-spirit)dancer for the great Basil Braveheart. Basil has been a powerful voice during the Standing Rock conflict. One of the only things Basil ever said to me directly was "Standing Feather, are you doing your art? It connects you to the creator." Unbelievable person. He always said, "We can't have a Sundance without winkte." A-ho!
